Somerville, Mass. – April 26, 2006 -- Rita Watson, MPH, former New York Times editor and journalist, has been named Senior Editor and Media Advisor for FEV Communications, visibility design specialists, located in Somerville, MA. Ms. Watson is currently completing her eighth book, Media Spin, How to Talk to the Press, where she reveals proven methods for being quoted accurately by reporters and secrets for successful on and off camera interviews.

While at Yale, through targeted press initiatives, a networking strategy, and serving as Spokesperson to the print and broadcast media, her team changed day care standards and treatment programs. She earned her Master’s in Public Health from Yale, where she designed and taught The TACT StrategiesÒ to health professionals and businesses to enhance teamwork, productivity, and consensus building.

Ms. Watson has extensive consulting experience. And at Yale, she was director of policy and education at Yale. Additionally she served as the architectural liaison for a city architect working on the design of therapeutic day care centers. Through legislation that she drafted, the bill was enacted, the new centers were funded, built, and received national recognition.
Rita Watson has twice appeared on The Today Show, as well as a host of New York and national news programs, she wrote for the New York Times for 12 years, has published Op-ed pieces in major newspapers across the country including the Los Angeles Times and the Christian Science Monitor. Her articles have appeared in magazines ranging from the Reader’s Digest’s “New Choices” to the New England Journal of Medicine. Newspapers across the nation have written about her work and her books, including the New York Times, the Palm Beach Post, and the Washington Post.
